At Airedale Academy, learning extends beyond the classroom. Homework is a key part of every pupil’s education, providing the opportunity to consolidate knowledge, practise skills, and develop independence. It helps pupils take ownership of their learning and prepares them for the demands of further study, exams, and future careers.
Homework is designed to:
- Reinforce and extend learning from lessons
- Develop organisation, self-discipline, and time management
- Encourage independent thinking and problem-solving
- Support pupils in achieving their full potential across all subjects
- Prepare pupils for future study and life beyond school
Teachers set meaningful, purposeful, and appropriately challenging homework for all pupils. This may include practising skills learned in class, applying knowledge in new ways, revision of key knowledge via our KS3 master sheets or exploring topics in greater depth.
At Airedale Academy, we encourage every pupil to take pride in their homework and strive for excellence in all that they do.
