Airedale Academy Sixth Form provides students with the chance to join a small close-knit community, where you will be made to feel special and encouraged to achieve your very best.
State of the art facilities include a common room with comfy seats, kitchen and computer suite. This area is used only by sixth formers so students are expected to take responsibility for maintaining the quality of this accommodation.
In the Sixth Form you will be treated as an individual and supported to ensure that you do not fail. You will be assigned a Progression Period to ensure that you get all the extra support you require during your studies with us.
With our outstanding teachers, students learn quickly and make great progress. These teachers have valuable experience in industry and a range of contacts who will visit lessons to further enrich the curriculum. This, coupled with trips, brings the subjects to life and enable students to gain a wider understanding of each area.
Careers information and guidance ensures students make informed choices and can determine where they want to go after Airedale. Students also have the opportunity to take part in a range of University trips and workshops. Regular feedback is available in reports and at parents' evenings, and pastoral mentors will help students to review their performance and set new targets.
In addition to their courses, students will have the opportunity to take part in enrichment activities, in sport, performing arts and enterprise to name just a few.
Sixth Form Bursary
We offer help with the costs associated with post-16 study. Bursaries are available to students from low-income families to help towards the cost of essential equipment, travel and trips. More information is available from the Head of Sixth Form.
