At Airedale Academy, a dedicated and talented staff ‘strive for excellence’ in all aspects of their work. They are committed to working alongside pupils to help them achieve their very best academically, socially and personally whilst also preparing them for life beyond education. Our ambition is to see pupils discover, aim for and achieve their dreams and we believe this can only happen if pupils enjoy coming to school.
This is why we place great emphasis on transition with our unique Year 7 Base and it is why we allow our pupils to take their options early, so they specialise in the subjects that they enjoy and achieve in. At KS4, we invest heavily in bespoke mentoring for our pupils so they make outstanding progress and feel supported through the pressures of revision, examinations and post 16 applications. However, we also acknowledge that the best schools don’t just foster individual talents through the curriculum, so we offer a diverse range of sporting, scientific, artistic, cultural, creative and musical extra curricular activities.
Performing Arts is our specialism and when you see one of the shows in our spectacular theatre, you’ll know why. The Phoenix Theatre has enabled us to make links with the wider community, particularly primary schools in the area, and we are very keen to provide more performing arts opportunities for more people.
Over the years we have developed a culture of reward, respect and celebration, and staff and pupils are proud to welcome visitors to our school.
